Muhurta is the ancient Vedic art of selecting the most auspicious — or identifying the most inauspicious — moment for an action or event, by reading the energies of the sky at that exact instant.

Classical Vedic texts place great emphasis on lunar phase and nakshatra quality for acquiring wealth objects. Pushya nakshatra is considered the most powerful nakshatra for purchasing gold — a practice still widely observed across India. Rohini, Hasta, Swati and Shravana also carry high scores for wealth-related purchases. The scoring engine evaluates tithi, nakshatra, vara and lagna strength, with special weight on Venus (natural significator of luxury, gold and beauty) and Jupiter (planet of wealth and abundance).

For gold purchase muhurta, Rahu Kaal and Yamaganda are always excluded as hard blockers. Dur Muhurta and Varjyam are flagged as soft warnings. A debilitated or combust Venus lowers the window score significantly, as Venus governs precious metals and luxury goods. A debilitated or combust Jupiter is also a soft blocker. Krishnapaksha (waning Moon) is generally avoided for wealth acquisitions; Shukla Paksha tithis — especially Dwitiya, Tritiya, Panchami, Saptami and Dashami — are preferred. Rikta tithis (4th, 9th, 14th) are avoided.
