Muhurta is the ancient Vedic art of selecting the most auspicious — or identifying the most inauspicious — moment for an action or event, by reading the energies of the sky at that exact instant.

Medical treatment muhurta selects a supportive moment to begin non-surgical care, medication, therapy or a course of healing. The scoring engine applies health-oriented weights to tithi, nakshatra, vara and lagna, with emphasis on a strong lagna (the patient's vitality) and benefic support for recovery. Auspicious nakshatras for starting treatment include Ashwini (the celestial healer), Pushya, Hasta, Chitra, Swati, Shravana, Dhanishta and Revati — nakshatras linked to health, healing and renewal.

For medical treatment muhurta, Rahu Kaal and Yamaganda are always excluded as hard blockers, while Dur Muhurta and Varjyam are flagged as warnings. Treatment is generally avoided when the Moon transits the patient's 8th nakshatra from birth (Chandrashtama) and during a debilitated or combust Moon, which weakens vitality. Kartari Yoga on Lagna, Gandanta Moon and Rikta tithis also lower the window score; Bhadra (Vishti karana) is avoided for starting care. A strong lagna and a waxing Moon best support recovery.
